SPAIN is a country with an enormous historical past, a country full of sunshine, contrasts, friendly people and long sandy beaches. Spain, is bordered by the Pyrenees in the north and the Sierra Nevada in the south and was for thousands of years one of the most important cultural centers of Europe, where Greeks, Romans and Arabs left their mark. Historical cities, like Toledo, Seville, Cadiz, Segovia, Pamplona and others, have many age-old monuments. Cartagena is a major historical port, as it is where the Armada set sail. Geographically and climatically, Spain is extremely versatile with the green fields in the north, with windmills scattered all over the countryside of the Don Quixote de la Mancha, up to the hot sand of the south. The Costa Blanca (white coast) is located between the Costa Brava in the north and the Costa del Sol in the south. "It must be a piece of heaven", said the Moors, when they arrived a thousand years before on the Costa Blanca. Accustomed to the hot desert they believed, that this place was paradise on earth.

340 days in the year the sun shines warm on the beaches. Olive and eucalyptus trees decorate the hillsides. Orange and lemon trees cover the valleys and in February the white and pink almond bloom gleams on the hills.

The name COSTA BLANCA means "white coast" and was named this 2,500 years ago by the Greek Visitors. It enjoys an abundant supply of the sun, the sea and mountains. The COSTA BLANCA is subordinate administratively to the State of Valencia with the state capital of the same name. The province capital is Alicante. With its international airport and motorways, Alicante is in a perfect position for travel.

The southern COSTA BLANCA is protected by the mountain range in Crevillente and provides the mild winter climate adored by holiday-makers and residents alike and also ensures an excellent climate for agriculture.

For the completion of the Mediterranean menu, the numerous ports supply fresh fish and seafood. In the historical city Guardamar del Segura you will find enormous dune landscapes which extend almost 17 km. A few km south you will find Torrevieja.
